I have to start this at the begining, Not much excited me before I took up the drums at school, aged just 11, I was lucky
enough to have the chance of free drum lessons at school, (Clapham Colledge). I had the great honour of being taught by Micky
Greaves, he was an ex BBC drummer in the days when they had bands, he played on the coronation street theme as well as others,
he was a fantastic pro, and a warm wonderful person. Sadly passed now but still thought off.
The class was booked solid, 20+ from the start and over the years it wittled down to just three, by then I could sight
read, and played in the school orchestra and gigged at the weekends.
I have played in bands since I was 15 or so, I had to grow fast as the first band I played with was a covers band called
Oasis,( not that band)! Sunny on the axe, eddie on bass, big edd on keyboards, Trev on the other axe, me on drums
and Dave on Sax! Really talanted and driven guys, I thank them for the drive they fired up in me!
A fantastic experiance for me, I learned a lot, travelled a lot developed my skills loosing the doubt and being able to
play with conviction and accuracy was exciting!
I played in several bands over the years, all covers, and got bored, really bored, I like playing Blues, reggae and Jazz.
We played the club scene! Had some fun and laughs along the way, with Chris Furtado, Marge Dcosta,Peter Dsousa, Eddie, Mike
Briganzza,Chris Thompson Richard and the rest of the chaps!
I now have a band playing Blues and only True blues, wonderful and expressive, a real buzz! It gives me the freedom I craved
at last!
